General Manager of Ecommerce

Electric Movement sells and services electric vehicles and does contract engineering and product development. We sell and service electric vehicle fleets for some of the best known corporate names in Silicon Valley and beyond. Our engineering team develops hardware and software for custom robotics and electric vehicle systems.

We are seeking a General Manager to form and lead the new ecommerce unit of our established 10 year old company. Your new team will launch and develop a brand new online storefront that aims to set a new standard for UX in the specialty electric vehicle and golf cart parts industry.

This role could be a perfect fit for you if:

  • You have at least 3 years of experience leading ecommerce teams - or -

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in various aspects of ecommerce, have never lead a team before, but are passionate about learning to be a highly effective leader

This is your perfect opportunity to start from scratch and help build a new web property the right way. We are working with very well regarded design firms for site development. Initial site launch is expected to take place this year. To be highly successful in this challenging role, you should be excited by the idea of starting from scratch on a new business unit within an established and growing core business. You should also be comfortable with the idea that you'll need to learn as you go.  Even the most experienced applicant will have a lot to learn to be successful in our challenging and thoughtful culture.

Job functions include:

  • Collaborating with leadership to develop and execute a phased site development and rollout plan

  • Collaborating with our design partners

  • Developing and executing on a marketing strategy

  • Developing our supply chain

  • Developing logistics and fulfillment

  • Hiring and developing a team

  • Developing master distributor relationships with some of our key vendors

  • Knowing our products inside and out and being able to speak in a technically accurate fashion

  • Excellent written, phone, and in-person customer communication

Required skills:

  • Ability to "just figure it out and get it done" with a positive attitude

  • Ability to manage and train other team members

  • Have at least a basic understanding of electricity (voltage, current, etc)

  • Well versed in all the major areas of ecommerce

  • Hands-on experience using SAAS ecommerce platforms

  • Eagerness to learn

  • Great judgement

  • Great communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks

  • An ownership mentality

  • Solid computer skills

“Nice to have” skills:

  • Personal interest in electric vehicles/robotics

  • Experience working on cars, electric vehicles, or golf cars recreationally or professionally

  • A real passion for electric and alternative fuel vehicles

  • Familiar with industry brands such as - Columbia, Gem, Taylor Dunn, Cushman, EZ-GO, Club Car, Yamaha, etc
